The valve cap performs several essential functions: It regulates the internal pressure of the boiler. It is calibrated at 5 bar, so it intervenes if the pressure exceeds this value. It functions as a safety valve. If the boiler were to overpressurize, the valve releases steam to prevent damage or explosions. It hermetically seals the 3/8" connection. It ensures the seal of the steam circuit, preventing leaks. It protects the heating element and the boiler body. By preventing overpressure, it prolongs the life of the appliance.

The valve cap should be changed when: the boiler leaks steam from the valve the valve no longer opens in the event of overpressure a continuous whistling sound is heard during heating the cap is oxidized, blocked or damaged the pressure does not rise correctly A defective valve can be dangerous because it prevents the pressure from venting properly.

It is mounted on the boiler, screwed onto a 3/8” male threaded connection. In Polti Vaporella models it acts as an integrated safety valve cap.
